When Croatia voted for independence in 1991, Dubrovnik was one of the major cities in Croatia not to have major military forces. During the attack on Dubrovnik in 1991 and 1992 in the context of general aggression against Croatia, the Yugoslav army did not respect the status of the Old City of Dubrovnik, and it was systematically bombarded by thousands of different shells, when every part of its historic structure, streets, public, residential and religious buildings were damaged. On this tour we will see how Dubrovnik was attacked and how the city was defended, how its people survived the horror of destruction. Starting the tour with cable car panoramic drive to mount Srd, we will visit Fort Imperial and War of Independence exhibition. After returning to the Old City, we will stroll around the city and see what a magnificent work was done in its restauration.
